[C9] New Policy - Rank Selling, Buying and Boosting | Lag Forcing
Greetings C9 Actionists,
With the advent of a new PVP Season, we've taken into consideration your feedback in regards to a concern many PVP players arose in regards to the integrity of the Rankings. To this end, we shall be instituting new policies in regards to these concerns to facilitate a season where the strongest prevails!
Rank Selling, Buying, and Boosting are actions where a player (The Seller / Booster) intentionally loses in Ranked Matches against another player (The Buyer / Boostee) with the intention of improving the Buyer/Boostee's grade or rank.
Now, some of you might be thinking that this could be a harmless endeavor or that it's a Seller's right, if they wish, to use their hard-earned points for their own benefit. However, this undermines the entire point and spirit of a Ranked Season by effectively allowing players to buy themselves a spot in the top ranks.
Lag Forcing is the act of utilizing an external program to delay your own packet exchange within the game to affect how battles occur. Usually this affects players in the form of teleporting, rubberbanding or damage hitting enemies who clearly dodged simply because they are not getting the information at the same speed.
We believe these to be toxic elements in PVP that need to be addressed. Beginning with this season, we will be instituting sanctions towards players engaging in these practices:
1st Offense
- One week ban.
- Disqualification from all Ranked Rewards for the rest of the season.
2nd Offense
- Permanent ban.
Due to the fact that, before this upcoming season, there hasn't been any explicit policy about this, previous offenders will not be affected by this policy. However, we will be monitoring the Ranked standings every week for suspicious behavior and players who believe others are engaging in Ranked fraud are encouraged to contact GM Ceth (with evidence in the form of screenshots or videos!).
Please be respectful of fellow players and keep in mind that ANY naming or shaming of players on forums will not be tolerated and shall be promptly removed.
Sincerely,
The C9 Support Team
